Streaming Spotlight: Redefining your 2020 with thy.self
Chloe Pierre, Founder of wellness community thy.self, shares key learnings from her shesaid.so IG Live [Clare Everson]
With World Kindness Day on 13th November, we think it’s high time we were all a bit kinder to ourselves. So let’s take the time to give ourselves some credit, reflect on our achievements and visualise where we want to take ourselves next.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and what you do?
My name is Chloe — I hail from Hackney, London, and some say I have an infectious personality and prescence. I am a Digtial Marketer, specialising in all types of communication especially the digital kind, culture and visual content. I also have my own blog, influencer profile and run the wellness platform thy.self.
What are the aims of Thy Self and can you tell us about what Thy Self has achieved so far?
thy.self is a platform with a mission to make wellness accessible through diversity, actualising self-care and self-love and make wellbeing a priority through lifestyle — all in the hopes of making the world starting with ourselves, the individual, thy.self. So far we have taken our brand internationally, grown a strong, diverse and international community who believe in our message, our energy, mission and lifestyle. What I love most and class as a success is the people we have reached and the internal as well as physical changes we’ve helped them create. On top of this we have been featured in British Vogue and Forbes and we just have so much more to do and accomplish. It’s really exciting!
What is your involvement with shesaid.so?
My last full time role was digital marketing within the music & events industry, so that is how I was first introduced to shesaid.so and honestly the community was one of the visuals I had to inspire thy.self. I love everything asbout shesaid.so and the way it is so adaptable to suit the women it represents. I have also held at least three sessions for sso via thy.self and it’s always great connecting with the team and community. I always leave feeling empowered and hope I have done the same in return.
What do you hope to achieve with your talk on ‘Redefining your 2020’, and why do you think it is important for those watching or the music industry?
With uncertainty being such a major focus, factor and emotion running through our world and 2020 on a whole as well as our understanding of our own realities and accepting change being very real for everyone and everything we know, pivoting can bring us a great sense of calm, perspective and grounding which will eventually allow us to mindfully to take a step back and step into our own power. This is the new normal.
Can you let us in to a few of the key points from your talk?
- Be in control of your own future by trying to visualise the rest of the year.
- Be realistic but move away from a defeatest mentality.
- Change your mindset to a more positive one: What unexpected things did you get to do in 2020?
- What did you learn from the start of the year, the downtime, the world? What will you take with you? What have you learnt so far in 2020 that will benefit the future you visualise?
